Design & Quality
The design and overall quality of the product are exceptional, leaving a lasting impression. The back navigation keys are not only compatible but also ergonomically designed for easy and accurate pressing. Moreover, they are intuitively organized, making navigation effortless. Moving to the front of the camera, its modern design is truly captivating. The blue power LED light emits a mesmerizing glow, indicating that the camera is in operation. As a testament to its attention to detail, this camera, like other top-notch products I’ve tested, features a thin rubber coating layer that safeguards it from dirt and prevents any potential stretching. Nonetheless, if there’s one aspect I would improve, it would be the screws. In my estimation, replacing the existing silver screws with sleek black coated ones would lend the camera a unified touch of sophistication and elegance.

The back cover can be closed tightly with great quality and maximum leverage. The Push Buttons are easy to press, requiring minimal force.

Front View:

Work Operation Methods:
Mobile Mode – Connecting the Camera to with Mobile Phone is done by the following steps:
- First, you need an available WiFi network.
- Installing SOOCOO App available to download from Google Play Store.
- Pressing the WiFi button located on the left of the camera for Device discovery (Note: As shown in photos above).
- Running the App, clicking the “+” sign for Scanning/Discovering camera.
- The camera should be identified as: “SOOCOO188XXXXXXXX“
- Entering default password: 12345678
- Once connecting is established, camera back screen will turn blue with a display message showing: WiFi Connected.. along with Camera MAC Address.
Operating Camera (Outdoors):
To operate the camera, users must connect to an available WiFi network or use a portable access point Mini Hub unit. The easiest solution is to activate the mobile phone’s 3G/4G connection and enable the Access Point mode feature.
Battery
One aspect that was rather dissatisfying about the product was the difficulty of reinserting the battery into the camera after removing it. The tight dimensions of the battery housing, as designed by the manufacturer, made this process quite challenging. It is worth noting, however, that generally there is no real need to open the housing unless the battery is dead or malfunctioning. Nonetheless, I believe it is important to mention this particular issue.
App UI
SOOCOO Android App is very user-friendly and easy to handle. Software currently only supports two languages: Chinese and English. In mobile mode the app itself lets you view through the camera and use nice features like Video recording, Taking photo snapshots (Stills mode). Very nice options, especially needed using the camera as the front camera. Just a quick note, the Wi-Fi mode normally consumes more “battery juice” therefore more frequent charging is needed. Buying a USB car charger unit that hooks to a lighter plug would be very helpful and highly recommended.

Additional Impressions:

- WiFi Mode: I didn’t see any noticeable delays or freezes when I watched the camera through my relative old ZOPO 810 (MTK 6589) Quad-core Mobile Phone.
Camera Modes (Connecting Unit to P.C):
- Mass Storage – Accessing Camera Internal Storage Space (Accessing External micro SD Card).
- PC Camera – Tested and found to work in Microsoft Windows 7 OS.
- Video – Normal camera operation mode.
Sensor performance (Tested in Different Light Conditions).
- Low light conditions (Night): Produced pretty good video even in almost complete darkness (Streetlights).
- Optimal Light Conditions (Sunny day): Video quality is high maintaining picture sharpens with minimal noise.
Final Words
The S33WS camera has outstanding features, and its price is equally impressive. Based on my few tests, this camera performs remarkably well in both daylight and low light conditions.
