Build Quality & Appearance
The MEIIGOO M1 phone has curved edges design and also very slim, which can easily slide into a small pocket. The device is built mostly from metal and partially from plastic materials weighing 185 gr. Also, I tried to find external design flaws and I didn’t find any which is a good thing. My personal feeling holding and carrying the phone was nothing but positive.

Hardware Platform
Based on MediaTek Helio P20 SoC. The MEIIGOO M1 is equipped with the same amount of 6GB RAM with the same SoC as in the previously reviewed DOOGEE Mix phone running an octa-core (eight cores) processor. One cluster is composed of 4 operating at a maximum frequency up to 2.39 GHz, while the other remaining four cores operate at max frequency up to 1.6GHz. That being said, The Mali-T880 MP2 GPU in this device is ideal for high-end users and very capable of running high graphic games. Jumping into benchmark test results, AnTuTu score was very close to the Mix device that ranked 60176 with a score of 59874.

After testing the phone with Geekbench 4 App the test results were in favor of the MEIIGOO M1 as shown in the photos below.

Software
The M1 came with a clean Android stock ROM with TinyDeal Mobile shopping App pre-installed. Few features worth mentioning related to both hardware and Android OS are the G-sensor and proximity sensors calibration function and Another feature not commonly available in all Chinese smartphones, which is the ‘LED Notification’ function that lets you get a visual notification when a Message was received via IM Apps, Email, SMS, when Charging, or getting notification upon unanswered calls and so forth.

Display
M1 comes with a 5.5 inch 10 point Multi-Touch display. From my impression, the picture quality was sharp and very bright, even when I set the screen to a lower brightness level. The responsiveness of the screen upon touch was good, and if I would rank the screen quality it would get a score of 9 of 10.
- Speakers – Where relatively loud with good and clear sound.
- Microphone – The microphone performed very well, and was very sensitive picking up sounds across the room in a distance of few meters.
Charging Time
Although the M1 hardware based on MediaTek Helio P20 does support quick charging technology, the provided charger included in the package was a standard 5V -A2. According to my test, using the provided charger it took 1:38 until the 4000MAh battery was fully charged.

Battery Usage (screen-on time)
After using the phone for web browsing. Running few IM Apps, such as WeChat and Whats-app with only 15- 16% of battery usage remaining, just before the phone entered into low power usage mode I managed to get 7:30 of screen-on time.
Navigation
GPS Test
Worked out of the box and tested with ‘GPS-Test’ App. According to my test result, the average satellites fix accuracy ranged between 2-3 meters.
Sensors
All the needed must have sensors are included with the M1. You have the orientation, accelerometer, gyroscope, fingerprint, light, proximity and the most important one, the Magnetometer sensor that works in combination with the GPS and improves accuracy. very needed if you are planning on navigating with maps stored locally on the phone, without any internet connection. The manufacturer also included a simple Compass App that basically uses the Magnetometer sensor capability to identify magnetic fields.
Cameras
The Rear Sony IMX214 13.0MP camera along with the secondary 8.0MP sensor produced very average quality photos and decent ones that did turn out ok were taken in optimal light conditions. In low light, the picture became grainy and blurred. At this point, I think a better optimization to the camera software is needed, and hopefully, the manufacturer will provide such update soon.

Final Verdict
MEIIGOO M1 is a very good phone. well designed, light and easy to carry. In terms of capabilities, it has high-end hardware specifications closer to the flagship device. You will be able to run high graphics demanding apps, including games. The rear camera didn’t produce amazing photos, but initially, I didn’t expect it to have a premium level camera. having said that, this phone has more cons than pros and I definitely recommend it.
