UHANS 200 Unboxing
Design & Build Quality
The U2 is a rugged smartphone with Entry level specifications, suitable for the average home users. In general, the product design style is more suitable for Men, but also can be used by both genders, men and women. As for build quality, I was very impressed, and it doesn’t happen much, especially after checking many consumer Chinese products.
The Phone frame is composed of two CNC manufactured parts made from metal, reinforced with Philips type bolts. On the top and bottom of the frame, you have two rubber/plastic, made sealers that protect the phone including micro USB and earphone ports from water and dirt. The touch screen is reinforced with a gorilla type glass. Bottom line, build quality is very solid.
Considering that the U200 combines two metal part that composes most of the phone frame, weight is not too high and is reasonable for a phone made from both plastic and metal materials. As shown in the photo below device weights 212 grams (Including Battery).
Water Resistance & Protection:
Because the manufacturer didn’t provide any official information within the product specifications regarding supported water resistance standards or test conditions, it’s safe to say the device is waterproof to some degree, but not underwater for a long period of time or high depth. The Device could possibly provide decent protection from rain or when dropping the device accidentally into the toilet or sink.
UHANS U200 | Back Cover
Back cover surface of the phone has a leather look and texture, which gives it a feeling like caring a fashionable accessory such as a wallet and not a mobile phone.

UHANS U200 | TOP & BOTTOM VIEWS
Both Micro USB & Earphone jack is located on the top side of the phone. Counseled and protected with two rubber-type flexible seals from both sides, as shown in the photo below.
The U200 comes with a clean ROM, running Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The System was stable and operated well as expected, without any lags or errors.
The phone has a high quality 3 point Capacitive IPS Touch screen. From my first impression, color production and viewing angles are excellent. The user experience was also great and the screen was responsive upon touch.
This is maybe the only disadvantage of this phone. The U2 has a single LED Flash located on the rear of the phone that looks to have a design issue. When the flash is turned on, you get a focused beam like using a flashlight and the light dispersion is not even and the environment doesn’t get proper lighting. I am not sure if its a poor selection of lens issue, or that the LED is located too deep in relation to the back cover surface. Nerveless, it shouldn’t happen and phone can’t be used to take stills photo in lower light conditions when the flash is really needed.
- Speaker: Sound Quality was good and clear with high volume levels.
Worked out of the box and performed well. First-time satellite fix took about 7 seconds with accuracy ranging between 12-14 feet (max).
- Test Mode: Walking.
- Mode: Offline (Note: without a 3G/4G Internet connection).
Tested with the following Navigation Apps:
- Genius Maps
- Here Maps
Both Cameras performed pretty average in terms of performance. In optimal light conditions pictures came out very reasonable, and lower light grainy as expected from a mid-range smartphone.
U200 Photo Samples
Battery performance was very good as expected. The combination of low CPU clock frequency and low-resolution 720P touch screen greatly contribute to power saving. The device tested with minimal basic apps usage, such as WeChat including surfing the web. For the test, I used the GSam Battery Monitor Application with “Adaptive Brightness” setting enabled.
If we measure battery operation in active screen time, Then phone operated 6:28 hours. With more “heavy” usage, you should expect it to work approximately ~5 hours.
UHANS U200 Battery
Under the Hood of the UHANS U200 you have MediaTek 64-bit MT6735P SoC running beside a Mali-T720 GPU. Processor frequency for every core, range between 221 MHz Up to 988 MHz. As mentioned previously, Specifications include 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM. From that you actually left with approximately ~8GB of internal storage and ~768MB of free RAM, Depending on the type of applications the user is running. As for user experience, the system worked smooth and I didn’t have any issues.
In terms of performance, the U200 ranked pretty averagely for an entry-level android quad-core phone with AnTuTu benchmark test score of 23867. Manufacturer probable could have tweaked the firmware to work at higher processor clock speed, But it will be at the expense of battery operation time.
AnTuTu benchmark Report
U200 is a good phone. I personally enjoyed it, especially because it’s well built and quality is high for a USD 130 Smartphone. That said, I think it’s a great buy for none power users looking for a type of fashionable business phone that can provide -5 hours of battery usage.
