    Product Introduction:

The new Ulefone Be Touch 2 is an improved Mid-range smartphone, based on the company’s previous Be Touch model. This model offers more advanced specifications that include high capacity 3050mAh battery and 5.5 FHD (1080×920 pixels) 2.5D curved (arc) touch screen that is now very popular among Chinese mobile manufacturers, which gives the phone screen a curvy looking design, with less sharp edges.

We are talking about a nice, well-designed Phone with great build design. Be Touch 2 operates under Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, equipped with the latest MediaTek MT6752 high eight-core (Octa-Core) Processor,  3G RAM, 16GB Internal storage that is considered to be above average user specs.

Both Cameras specs remain the same as in the previous Be Touch mode model, with a 5MP front camera and 13MP Rear camera, equipped with a Sony IMX214 CMOS Sensor That should preform and respond well under less optimal light conditions.

Looking at the phone main highlight, It comes with a special Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated within the front Home button. I am not sure most users will really use this feature on a daily basis, But still, it’s a nice feature to have. Making the device more secure and private. That being said, The Be Touch 2 is currently sold online for 198.90 USD retail price (including shipping). Additional information about the product can be found in TOMTOP.COM Store.

    • 1x 5V / 1.5A Power Adapter.
    • 1x TPU Protective Case (Back cover).

    Design & Build Quality

From the first impression, both are top level. The phone design looks very cool, Some people will claim it looks like an iPhone 6 clone, But I personally don’t see the resemblance, except the round home bottom key that does look very similar. Instead of adding a fingerprint sensor on the backside of the phone, UleFone company added a home key bottom integrated with a built-in fingerprint sensor, making it more accessible and easy to operate, instead of reaching and stretching fingers on the back of the device.

The Be Touch 2 comes in two colors. White and gray version, which I received. Because the back cover coating surface looks great, you can easily confuse it for metal made part, but it’s actually made from high-quality plastic. The bottom line, design, and build quality both look great.

    System Performance (AnTuTu Benchmark)

The device is powered with MediaTek MT6752 64 Processor, Running Android, 5.1 lollipop OS under kernel version 3.10.61. Based on my checks, everything worked smoothly and stable as it should. According to AnTuTu, the device ranked relatively high, very close to Samsung GALAXY Note 4 phones ranking 45760.

    Basic functions:

    Rear Camera

The Phone back camera is equipped with a SONY IMX214 sensor that produces relatively good quality stills photos, especially in optimal light conditions. In low light conditions, including complete darkness, it performed exceptionally well thanks to the strong and bright LED flash.

    Front Camera

The front camera worked well, producing reasonable selfie photos. As an extra bonus UleFone company also added an additional Front LED flash for low light conditions. It’s not that strong in brightness vs. rear camera, but it’s a good option to have, the one you normally don’t find in many Chinese phones.

    TouchID (fingerprint sensor)

This feature similar to apple technology gives the user an option to lock & unlock the device by using a scanned fingerprint. The Procedure of scanning first-time fingerprint involves doing the following steps: Going into the Settings option and doing a few scans, until the system completely identify it and build a complete fingerprint system profile.

User can set restrictions to specific applications, and store up to 5 fingerprint scans. Unlocking the phone is done in two methods: by fingerprint ID or unlock with a password. From my checks, both options worked well without any problems.

    Touch Screen

The phone has a 5.5 inch IPS OGS, 5 points Touch Screen with good viewing angles. When I tested it outdoors, on a sunny day I needed to raise the brightness level to the max to get better screen visibility and minimize light reflections.

    GPS

GPS Worked out of the box, without a need to tweak any special software settings. In my quick test under a clear sky using GPS Test App, I managed to get a fast satellite fix with an accuracy of 13-16 ft in about 30-60 seconds. Giving a nice indication of GPS performs fairly well.

    Audio

The audio levels with the phone were reasonably good. The phone speaker sound quality could be better.

    Battery

The phone comes with a 3.8V 3050mAh detachable lithium polymer Battery. In moderated operation, which includes WiFi & some surfing it lasted approximately between 5-6 hours. If you set brightness levels to the lower level the user should probably get some extra Battery “juice”. In half usage/standby mode, you can get up to 10-11 hours usage, that’s considered to be reasonable.

    Final Words

The Be Touch 2 categorized as a mid-range smartphone with flagship-level specifications. The product combines great design and excellent build quality. In my opinion, the advantages of the product surpass its disadvantages. I personally recommend it as a low-cost solution if you sort on cash and can’t afford to buy a new expensive iPhone 6. You’re welcome to check and read more about the product in TOMTOP.COM

    PROS

    • The Speaker’s sound quality is good but could be better.

    CONS

    • High Performance ( AnTuTu: Score 45760 ).
    • The phone doesn’t heat much.
    • Superb design & build quality.
    • Dual LED Flash (Rear + Back Back).
    • Built-in Fingerprint ID Sensor.
