Meiigoo S8 Review | Product Introduction
Meiigoo S8 is the second model right after the M1 launch of Shenzhen Meiigoo Technology Co., Ltd. This new phablet comes with a big 6.1-inch display, with a resolution of 1080 x 2016 pixels which gives the display a pixel density of 264 PPI (pixels per inch). The screen is extended to all the four sides and corners. Plus on top of it, there is a 2.5D curved glass which makes it very comfortable to hold. The aspect ratio of the screen is 18:9 which makes the display taller than the majority out there.
Meiigoo S8 is powered by an octa-core CPU, based on MTK6750T SoC from MediaTek. It comes with 4 GB of RAM as its primary memory. Along with 64 GB of internal memory as its secondary memory which can be further expanded up to 256 GB with a micro SD card.
The primary camera hosts a dual setup which is a combination of 13 megapixel and 5 megapixels. The 13 MP has f/2.2 as its focal aperture. The additional 5 MP is used for shallow depth of field. Means, unlike other smartphones, which use software to control the bike affect the Meiigoo S8 is done by the camera itself. Now, speaking of quality it’s very best in natural lighting conditions. Colors, contrast, and brightness are very even. Plus there is no oversaturation effect. However, in low light conditions you can expect some noise, but with LED flash should help to minimize the noise pixel effect.
To sum things up, the Meiigoo S8 is an affordable smartphone that comes with a decent 3300 mAh battery. Its hardware should be a good pick for standard none power users looking for a well designed low budget device with an excellent display. Having said that, the Meiigoo S8 is currently on sale on TOMTOP Website (Link posted below):

Appearance & Design
Meiigoo S8 external appearance resembles the Samsung S8 phone shape. Design quality in this phone was excellent on all levels with a solid build quality composed of a metal-made frame. The S8 phone comes with an 18:9 ratio 6.1-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels that is elongated and easy to hold, producing a very sharp picture. SIM Socket is located on the top of the device compared to the side in most Chinese phones. Meiigoo company didn’t pass on the LED notification light, as well as the headphone jack that was moved to the bottom of the unit next to the speaker grills.

Based on MediaTek MT6750 SoC designed for mid-range smartphones. The S8 octa-core processor provides decent performance suitable for the average user and slightly about it. Based on my personal user experience it defiantly worked smoothly with 4GB RM running under the Android 7.0 operating system.

Meiigoo S8 | AnTuTu benchmark
The Meiigoo S8 came with a clean stock Android Nougat 7.0 operating system without any bloatware or extra apps. The software ran fast and smooth with zero problems. No complaints here. Without installing additional apps the memory usage utilized by Android system was %49 and the remaining free internal storage space from 64GB decreased to about 53GB.
Meiigoo S8 | Software
The S8 comes with an excellent 6-inch high-resolution 10 point display panel with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels that is bright and also very sharp in the eyes with great viewing angles. Even in %20 brightness level, the screen was viewable and bright enough for user operation outdoors under direct sunlight.
The Default camera pre-installed as part of the Android system produced pretty dark pictures indicating that the camera software is not optimized properly. To solve this problem I installed ‘Camera-FV-5’ App that greatly improved picture brightness. In terms of picture quality, both cameras didn’t produce great nor too bad photos compared to previously reviewed low budget phones.
Low Light Conditions
The camera produced blurry and grainy photos as expected in a low budget phone. with flashlight assistance, the photos came out reasonable in quality, but not so great.

Meiigoo S8 | Outdoors (Rear Camera)
Another strong point for this low budget phone is about this phone is the loudspeaker that surprisingly produced a good quality rich sounds.
Microphone – Preformed well with decent sensitivity in picking environment sounds.
Tested with GPS Test App and worked out of the box. ‘HERE WeGo’ App also work well in walk mode without using Data 4G/3G Data connection assistance.
Screen on time – Standard (“Lite” usage)
Considering the fact that the S8 is categorized as a low budget phone its 3000-3300mAh battery life performance was reasonable, but not amazing. With “light” usage and brightness set to %45-50 with 3G/4G Data connection enabled, running YouTube few times, using IM Apps and browsing I get up to ~5h of on-screen time. If you lower screen brightness and tweak the power settings more you can probably “squeeze” extra power improves battery performance. In more “heavy” usage you can expect 3h of screen-on-time that is considered to be very low.
Battery Charging Time
The S8 came with a standard 5V – 2A power adapter that doesn’t support quick charging technology. According to my test, it took 1h:46 min to fully charge the S8 3300mAh Lithium-ion battery.
