What’s Included
The new streamer comes with a black plastic body measuring 107.4x30x14 mm and weighing 44 grams, with the most significant change to the user experience being the transition from Android TV 11 to the more advanced Google TV system.
The operating system comes with a collection of various apps pre-installed on the streamer, including popular apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Xiaomi TV+. The system also supports wireless projection of content from the user’s mobile device via Google Cast.
The accompanying Bluetooth remote includes a dedicated Google Assistant voice command button, which allows for convenient voice control of the device and streaming content.
Upgraded hardware
Technically, the new streamer is equipped with a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor instead of the previous generation’s Cortex-A35, along with a new ARM G310 V2 graphics processor that replaces the Mali G31 MP2. However, the device continues to offer 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Connectivity has been significantly upgraded with support for dual-channel WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, along with HDMI 2.1 and Micro-USB ports. The device also supports 4K decoding with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and DTS-X. Xiaomi officially claims that the new device is about 80% faster in daily use—whether it’s opening applications, switching interfaces, or loading videos.
Portable design, plug and play.
This 2nd-generation Xiaomi TV stick continues the classic USB stick design, which is so small that it can be easily put into a small pocket. Whether you want to upgrade your smart system on your old TV at home, or you want to turn your hotel TV into a “home theater” when traveling, this TV stick can easily do it. Simply plug it into the HDMI interface of your TV, turn on the power, and you’re set to watch.
Availability and price
While Xiaomi has officially announced the new streamer on its global website, the device is already available for sale on AliExpress today at a price of approximately 40 euros.
