Xiaomi launched on November 11 their new wireless mouse named: Wireless Mouse Lite, the mouse utilizes a minimalist and lightweight design. Externally it looks similar to the Mouse Edition 2 we reviewed before, but It is a brand new model with few design improvements and changes compared to the previous model.

Mi Wireless Mouse Lite specifications

Mi Wireless Mouse Lite comes with an optical sensor that has a resolution of 1,000dpi. It works with an AAA battery and includes a power button that activates the tracking. The mouse also comes with automatic sleep technology to provide battery efficiency to some extent.

Like various existing wireless mice, Mi wireless mouse lite comes with a USB Type-A port receiver. There is also a dedicated compartment located on the bottom of the mouse to store the receiver when it is not in use. The wireless mouse lite carries a price tag of ~$8 – 17. Design and buttons

In a first look, externally both Mouse Lite and Mouse Edition 2 look very similar with few changes in design. Xiaomi made the mouse lite longer and also wider (About 5 mm) so it’s a lot comfortable fit on the hand, especially suitable for users with longer hands.

The Mi Mouse Lite is a two-button mouse that would be a good fit for right-handed as well as left people. The device is very light, weighing just ~64 grams so It’s an ideal mouse to be carried with a portable device such as a laptop computer/Table PC.

The power on/off switch remains the same, located on the bottom as in the previous Mouse Edition 2. Also, the dongle compartment and the battery housing were moved to the bottom of the mouse.

Installation

Very simple and straightforward. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to install a mouse. You need to open the housing cover. Slide a AAA battery and plug the USB dongle into the device you want to control.

Design and Looks

The mouse’s exterior design is agronomic and very comfortable to operate. The mouse is composed of two separate parts. The upper cover and the main body of the mouse. The Upper surface is attached to the mouse’s main body with three magnets embedded inside the mouse.

The mouse is powered with a small on/off switch on the device’s button next to the laser diode. To gain access to the battery and Nano receiver, stored in a small compartment, you will need to remove the upper cover by hand, which is straightforward. Another good idea by Xiaomi has added a back function button on the right-side mouse that is very comfortable and accessible using the thumb finger.

Build Quality

Continuing Xiaomi’s tradition of making great high-quality products, this mouse’s build quality looked solid, and the Plastic didn’t feel cheap. The general impression from build quality was nothing but excellent.

The mouse comes with a type AA 1.5V Alkaline battery, which, according to Xiaomi product-specified actions, can last up to one year of usage if the power switch is set to off when not used. At this point, I can’t verify it does that much time, but even if it lasts only six months, it’s good enough for me.

Operation

To check the user experience impact when the product is used on different surfaces, I placed and tested with smoother and rougher surfaces such as rubber, A piece of soft cloth, a wooden plate, books, and a carton box. According to my tests, the device still worked well without problems and, therefore, can be used with most surfaces, including none idealistic ones.

I decided to give this product a try and write a full independent review. So what’s special about this product you ask?. Quality

The overall quality was good. The HBQ Q32 TWS earphones come with a plastic-made case coated with a thin rubber layer. Both earphones come with a glossy surface, and based on my personal experience if they accidentally slip and fall from your hands or ears on the floor, it doesn’t damage the earphones shell plastic surface.

Design

Inside the package, you will find an additional two pairs of silicone earbuds in addition to the existing one already assembled on the earphones. You can also choose and try the best pair that is best comfortable with your ear shape. The weight of each earphone left and right is exactly 4gr, a total weight of 8gr to carry inside the ears. Each earphone is equipped with a built-in call answering and a pause button. It’s not as comfortable as a touch-type button, but it does the job well.

Basic Operation

To establish a connection between a Bluetooth device such as Mini PC, tablet or mobile phone you need to first enable the Bluetooth option. To pair between earphones and targeted device you have to first place the earphones inside the charging case and just remove them. This step of the process is necessary for the pairing process. Once accomplished, you will see the earphone device listed as “HBQ-Q32 TWS“. Now, every time and as long as Bluetooth mode enabled the earphones will be automatically connected.

Putting the earphones back into the charging bin it will shut down them and start automatic charging.Once the earphones are inserted in it, the light on both earphones will turn red color, indicating they are charging until fully charged and the lights automatically turn off.

Charging and Battery Life

In the battery power arena. Each of the HBQ Q32 TWS earphones is equipped with an internal 50mAh battery. The carrying case has a few functions. It works as a power bank and also charges the earphones if they need extra power juice, those extending product operation times.

On the back of the case, you will find two types of interfaces. A micro-USB port for charging the internal 1500mAh battery of the case and an additional USB port used for charging external mobile devices, such as a mobile phone. The cable provided in the package is USB to Micro-USB type. Keep in mind that If you are using a USB Type-C phone you will need to use a suitable cable or buy a small Micro-USB to Type-C Adapter.

Sound Quality

I was impressed with the sound quality. The sounds were clear with good dynamic range. Also, the bass effect was good and more noticeable when playing electronic /dance style music soundtracks.

Voice Prompt

The voice prompting in English is a defiantly a nice addition to this product. When the HBQ Q32 TWS earphones first Initial a wireless connection with a mobile device you will hear a voice prompt notifications when there is a disconnection problem or when left and right channels connection is established, so you can distinguish between both left and right earphones before wearing them. Also, the voice prompting also works well for me when answering incoming phone calls by reading the incoming phone number.

Operation Time (Battery Life)

The battery life with earphones type of product varies and is difficult to predict accurately. It depends on many variables. The Q32 TWS can approximately operate for about 4 hours after a single charge for the case.

Controls

Each of The Q32 TWS earphones (left & right) come with built-in press type of buttons, that allow you to pause during playback by pressing it once, or double click to switch to next track. As a user, It felt less comfortable pressing it against my ears compared to a touch type button.

Transmission Range

As declared by manufacturer specifications sheet and also based on my personal hands-on tests, you can expect a maximum reception range of ~10m or even more, as long as you don’t have walls that can interfere with the signal reception.
