Cooling the board

Due to the absence of heatsink mounting holes on this board, it’s essential to apply a high-quality thermal paste to ensure optimal heat convection contact. Since the lake features an onboard 5V power source, the only option left is to go with the passive heatsink. You can select larger heatsinks based on how tall the case is.

Below is a list of recommended heatsink sizes.

Temperatures

So, we checked the temperatures, and they’re hanging around 57°C. Even with the heatsink on, it’s pretty hot but still manageable, and everything seems to be running fine. But keep in mind, once the board goes into a totally closed case, those temps could go up even more. A smart move would be to design a case with an opening right above the Ky X1 Chip, or even better, use an external power source and slap on a small fan to help push that extra heat out. By the way, we already mentioned that Orange is expected to sell a metal case for the board soon, so if you can hold on to a bit, it should be available in a few weeks.

Where did you get the case? I’ve looked everywhere on AliExpress (well, not *everywhere*) but have not been able to find any suitable case or even a drawing for a 3d printer.

Thanks for the tip but I can’t find the case under that name, also the pi4a has a whole other ports layout. Would you have a direct link?

I’m still looking for that case and can’t find it in your article? Can you just give me a link? Thanks
