Final thoughts

The R2S is a pretty neat mini router board that gets the job done. Yeah, it has a couple of downsides, like it doesn’t have mounting holes if you want to customize your own case and there’s no 5V power option for a fan, but overall, it works really well. Priced around $30-49, it’s tough to find a better deal, especially if you’re into OpenWrt and want to set up a little firewall to fend off cyber threats and block ads.

You can even turn it into a mini–NAS by hooking up an external HDD to one of the USB ports on the R2S. All in all, it’s definitely a good product worth checking out that we highly recommend!

Where did you get the case? I’ve looked everywhere on AliExpress (well, not *everywhere*) but have not been able to find any suitable case or even a drawing for a 3d printer.

Thanks for the tip but I can’t find the case under that name, also the pi4a has a whole other ports layout. Would you have a direct link?

I’m still looking for that case and can’t find it in your article? Can you just give me a link? Thanks
