NanoPi R6S

The NanoPi R6S (“R6S”) is an open-source, high-performance platform developed and designed by FriendlyElec for edge computing. It can be used as a Mini PC or as a mini gateway router device at home to increase network security. It features a dual-2.5G and a Gbps Ethernet port. It supports multiple OS systems, including FriendlyWrt, Android, Debian, Ubuntu, and more.

Interfaces

The R6S has two USB ports and supports USB Type-C-based PD power delivery, making it a suitable power source for an external hard disk. The R6S is an excellent choice for homes and enterprises supporting a wide selection of applications, such as mini-machine vision systems, secure gateway devices, or NAS servers needing multiple Ethernet ports.


Hardware

Powered with the latest Rockchip RK3588S Octa-core Processor: Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.4GHz, 4 Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz GPU – Arm Mali-G610 MP4 quad-core GPU. The NanoPi R6S comes with two 2.5GbE ports, 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, and 2 USB interfaces. It has 8GB of RAM, 32GB of eMMC flash, and an HDMI 2.1 port that supports video output up to 8Kp60. His TOPS NPU with 6 AI workloads integrated with 8K video decoding capability.


Connectivity

The NanoPi R6S board only offers LAN Ethernet ports in the connectivity arena. If Wi-Fi support is needed, you can check the FriendlyElec compatibility list to check which USB Wi-Fi adapters will work out of the box and which models will require a manual driver installation to recognize the device.

Metal Enclosure

FriendlyElec company team has released a well-crafted metal enclosure produced in CNC manufacturing. The R6S comes with rich hardware resources that perfectly fit into a compact 96.5 x 68 x 30 mm enclosure that weighs 262g and is easy to carry inside a small bag, and also provides passive cooling for the Board mounted inside. Based on our previous experience with the NanoPi R5 board, we can assure you that this enclosure is super durable and very suitable for operating in industrial environments.
