Banana Pi BPI-AI2N

The Banana Pi BPI-AI2N SBC (Single-board Computer) comprises an open-source SOM module and carrier designed to harness the robust capabilities of the RZ/V2N Vision AI MPU. This platform fosters a flexible, community-driven ecosystem, which accelerates innovation and streamlines application development for developers. Equipped with the RZ/V2M MPU, the BPI-AI2N boasts remarkable AI acceleration at 15 TOPS (sparse) and high-performance computing powered by four Cortex-A55 processors. This exceptional combination makes the BPI-AI2N the perfect choice for advanced vision AI applications.

The Renesas RZ/V2N vision AI MPU (microprocessor unit) delivers exceptional low-power efficiency, consuming approximately 1.5 watts under typical operating conditions. This remarkable efficiency removes the necessity for cooling fans, making it the perfect choice for compact, budget-friendly embedded systems.

Sinovoip has announced a partnership with Renesas Electronics.

On March 11, 2025, SinoVoip Company Ltd, the company behind the known Banana Pi brand whose main business core focuses on open-source hardware solutions, unveiled a new partnership with the renowned semiconductor giant, Renesas. This alliance marks a significant leap forward in open-source technology, embedded systems, and IoT, empowering developers and enterprise users worldwide to create more powerful solutions.

Furthermore, Renesas stands out by providing exceptional software support, supplying developers with SDK tools that facilitate the compilation and development of AI applications specifically designed for their RZ/V2M Vision AI microprocessor.


BPI-AI2N SoM Module (Core)

  • Small Form Factor: Compact SO-DIMM, 260-pin design (SOM module size: 45 x 69.6 mm).
  • Open-source development kit, including SOM, BPI-AI2N carrier board, and a rich ecosystem of tools and support from the Banana Pi developer community.
  • Customizable hardware and software by OEMs and ODMs.
  • Yocto and other open-source software support.
  • Memory & storage: 8GB LPDDR4x, 32GB eMMC, 64MB QSPI flash.
  • Wide operating temperature range from -40℃ to 85℃.

BPI-AI2N Main Carrier Board

The board is equipped with a 260-pin SODIMM connector, facilitating seamless integration with the system-on-module (SOM). This advanced carrier board features few notable features such as an integrated Wi-Fi module, complemented by two USB 3.0 ports and two Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports. It also provides three IPX sockets for connecting external Wi-Fi antennas, an HDMI port, a MicroSD slot, and two MIPI interfaces for external camera connections, alongside a MIPI display port. Additionally, for enhanced storage capabilities, it includes a Key-M M.2 slot located at the rear of the board.
