Same form factor as the LattePanda V1, but not quite as fast!
The IOTA board, while maintaining the same compact dimensions of 88 x 70mm (3.46 x 2.76″), is compatible with the LattePanda V1—but there’s a catch. From our testing, it fits well inside the case, but you’ll need to find a suitable active heatsink and the correct connector to make it work. Additionally, if you plan to add an NVMe SSD via the expansion board, it won’t fit the case with both parts of the case assembled together.
We came up with a few ideas to solve this issue and think that 3D printing a plastic frame to extend the total height of case could be a great yet simple solution to fit the NVMe board without obstructing the USB ports.
Another option is to purchase the IOTA aluminum metal case for $29.90. A more affordable alternative is to create a custom case using acrylic plastic plates or have one made through 3D printing manufacturing.
Installing the IOTA board into the older LattePanda V1 metal enclosure.
As shown in the photo below, the board fits perfectly, but if you need the NVMe option, the upper-case cover won’t close properly due to USB interference and the case’s low height. You can use the case as a semi-open option, but DFRobot should consider offering an active fan cooling option; otherwise, the board will overheat.
