Resource Units (RUs) are a cleverly designed system of small divisions within wireless radio frequencies. The MRU technology, which is an improved version of OFDMA, aims to optimize the distribution and utilization of bandwidth even more efficiently. Although OFDMA is successful in dividing the bandwidth among multiple users, it fails to fully maximize the potential of each user.
The MRU feature in the new Wi-Fi 6/7 standards allows users to utilize multiple RUs based on their needs, unlike in the previous protocol where only one RU could be used. This helps optimize bandwidth utilization and enables users to transfer larger amounts of data.
