Exceptional protection from water
Xiaomi claims that the S3 is designed to withstand splashes and sprays, and it can even be worn while swimming.
The 5ATM water resistance rating is equivalent to a depth of 50 meters, meaning it can be worn in swimming pools, while swimming near the shore, and during other shallow water activities. But it’s less durable under extreme hot water temperatures and not suitable for wearing in hot showers, saunas, or while diving. Use it moderately and avoid pushing it to the limit.
In addition, Xiaomi has implemented a self-cleaning mode by generating a low pitch beep sound, which ejects (clears) any accumulated water from the speakers and possibly also from the microphone. The option can be used after any direct contact with water, like swimming.
Operation
The S3’s responsive touch display allows users to navigate and interact with the device through gestures, while Xiaomi has also incorporated two additional operating buttons to enhance functionality and provide more control options. Having both the upper function button and the lower power button is definitely a nice addition to the watch.
