A peak at the new upcoming Orange Pi Nova

Showcasing cutting-edge hardware architecture.

Reports indicate that the Loongson 2K3000 is a versatile 8-core SoC chip featuring Loongson’s proprietary instruction set architecture, known as Dragon architecture. This chip is built upon the self-engineered LA364E processor core, achieving a remarkable single thread fixed/floating point peak performance of over 10 GFlops/GHz in the SPEC CPU 2006 Base benchmark, which aligns with the performance levels of the LA464 core found in the Loongson 3A5000 processor. Additionally, it incorporates the second-generation self-developed GPGPU core, LG200, which significantly enhances graphics capabilities, effectively satisfying the demands for high-resolution and fluid graphics display in industrial human-machine interfaces (HMI) and smart terminals, while also facilitating general-purpose computing and AI acceleration.

Onboard Interfaces and Ports

Based on the Loongson 2K3000, Orange Pi Nova integrates 8 LA364E processor cores (up to 2.4GHz), 8 built-in 16-bit DDR4 chips, and can be equipped with up to 32GB DDR4 memory and 32GB eMMC storage. OrangePi Nova has a wealth of interfaces, including M.2 slot, TF card slot, HDMI, 2 USB3.0, 2 USB2.0, Type-C, 2.5G high-speed network port, Wi-Fi + BT module, UART, GPIO, etc., which can meet the needs of device connection and data interaction in different scenarios and is a high-quality choice for domestic independent control.

Software Support

Regarding its software ecosystem, the Orange Pi Nova is compatible with local operating systems like Loongnix 20 and Antong OS. At the same time, more and more domestic software and open-source software have adapted to the Loongson architecture. According to reports, Longjia has been supported by hundreds of international software open-source communities related to the instruction system, supported by operating systems such as UnionTech, Kirin, Euler, Dragon Lizard, Hongmeng, etc., and supported by basic applications such as WPS, WeChat, QQ, DingTalk, Tencent Meeting, etc., and has formed a basic software ecology alongside X86 and ARM.

Xunlong’s collaboration with Loongson

In addition, Xunlong Software will cooperate in-depth with Loongson Club, based on Orange Pi Nova, supporting related accessories, adapting to pre-installed Antong OS, Loongnix, openKylin, deepin, teamOS and other operating systems, integrating domestic design and scientific computing software such as Wukong Image and Beitai Tianyuan, accessing the 100% independent and controllable intelligent computing cluster computing power service provided by Taichu Yuanqi, supporting the industry’s mainstream domestic model API, and providing AI PC AND AI NAS , AI edge boxes, machine vision modules, and other solutions.

Xunlong Software mentioned that Loongson processors play a key role in boosting local alternatives. They plan to work even closer together in the future to help reshape the industrial chain. Their goal is to enhance security and improve the entire industrial setup, creating a self-sufficient ecosystem. This move aims to support the strong growth of the digital economy.
