Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro (aka Poco F8 Pro) is set to launch in China.

Xiaomi is preparing to launch its next-generation Civi smartphone, the Civi 5 Pro (Poco F8 Pro), in China later this month. While an exact date has not been confirmed, May 22 is being suggested as a possible launch date. Internally referred to as Little 15, this model is being presented as the most advanced Civi phone to date. Lu Weibing, head of Xiaomi’s smartphone division, mentioned that it aims to provide an experience comparable to that of the regular iPhone, with a focus on a slimmer, lighter design. This claim indicates a significant improvement over last year’s Civi 4 Pro. Here are the key details about the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro.

The highly anticipated Poco F8 Pro may be on the horizon.

The past experience has shown us that it is quite likely that Xiaomi will continue to rebrand their Chinese variants under international brand names specifically aimed at Indian and other global markets. This strategy seems to be a part of their broader approach to cater to diverse consumer preferences and expand their reach outside of China. By doing so, they can adapt their products to fit the unique demands of different regions while maintaining a strong global presence. Overall, it’s an intriguing business model that has proven effective for them in the past. So. Yes, it’s a possibility.

Now It’s official!

Also, Xiaomi’s social media manager recently unveiled some updates on his personal WeChat account, announcing that the upcoming phone will be equipped with a Leica-powered triple camera system on the rear, featuring three 50 MP sensors. Moreover, the Civi 5 Pro will showcase an ultra-slim design, mirroring the flagship Xiaomi 15 with an elegant 8.1 mm profile.

Showcasing an upgraded and enhanced camera system.

The collection of posts featured a range of camera samples, providing insights into the camera specifications. The primary sensor will maintain an f/1.63 aperture, while the ultra-wide lens will boast an f/2.2 aperture and a 15 mm equivalent focal length. The images reveal a 60 mm focal length, potentially corresponding to the 2.5x telephoto camera found in the Redmi K80 Pro.

The Civi series typically features two front-facing cameras, with at least one expected to be a 50 MP lens boasting an f/2.0 aperture, likely equipped with autofocus as well.

The phone has been spotted on Geekbench, featuring a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and a remarkable 16 GB of RAM. Xiaomi is anticipated to launch the Civi 5 Pro with an impressive 6,000 mAh battery, marking a significant upgrade from the 4,700 mAh battery found in its predecessor, the Civi 4 Pro.

Xiaomi is a Chinese tech company specializing in smartphones, smart home devices, and consumer electronics. It recently unveiled the SU7 electric sedan and introduced its first self-developed smartphone chip, XRING 01.
