Our WiFi 6 Mini came pre-installed with an OpenWrt snapshot version 22.03.0, running under Kernel Version 5.10.138. The has a total of 128GB of RAM, with only 48% currently in use. Although there is no Micro SD Card slot option available for expandable storage, it features a USB 3.0 Port for additional external storage options.
To update the board firmware, you will require a USB RS-232 cable. After connecting the RS-232 USB cable to the board’s 3 pin header and booting the device, you can update the firmware by following the detailed instructions provided on BananaPi Docs product page.
Testing the WiFi connection
Through our simple tests conducted within a proximity of 1 meter from the device, we have successfully optimized our ISP 1G fiber connection plan. However, it is important to consider that obstructions such as walls and doors may have an impact on the signal strength. Overall, our general impression was nothing short of excellent.
